On October 8, 2013 the EPFD Firefighters came out to the Ysleta Branch Library and met some of our young patrons and parents. The firefighters and the kids enjoyed storytime and later made paper fire hats for craftime. The firemen talked about fire prevention and safety, afterwards, a tour of the fire engine. The truck and all the equipment was quite impressive to see. YS wishes to thank the firefighters of the Q17 for their services and for visiting the library.

Patrons of the Ysleta Branch Library participated in a real world treasure hunt known as Geocaching. It is an outdoor game where participants hunt for hidden geocache with the aid of a hand-held GPS enabled device. The players are given coordinates of the cache and the GPS leads them to it. Our young patrons had a great time with this enjoyable activity!
